My Story:
So, here we are again… another review of what has proven to be my favorite company for sleep systems. For this review we are going to explore the Zenbivy ZipBed Overland used with the Flex 3D Mattress. So, lets get into it!
Again, I was jazzed to get to test out a new bed from ZenBivy. I often find myself camping out in some random places and for that I need a good assortment of beds. One of the more random places I find myself camping out is on the floor of hotels. Yes, I know that sounds weird but times are rough and a guy has to do what a guy has to do.
My first testing area, after initial setup in my living room, was on the floor of a hotel when we could only get a room with a single bed. So, I threw my overland bed in the car and headed out. Once we were settled in I set up my bed for the night.

After drinking in my wonderful view of the IHOP I had to jump into the bed and make sure it was comfortable.

Night one went on to be a success. I enjoyed a great night of sleep in a very unlikely place. What I noticed was a very spacious bed and mattress with more than enough cushion to keep me off the floor and comfortable. I found the quilt and under sheet to be on par with the great quality I have come to know from Zenbivy. As you can see in the picture the sheet holds the pillow in place, this is something that I freaking love more than anything! Another great thing is the footbox allows for my tootsies to pop out when they get hot which is a massive bonus. So, after a successful night in the hotel I was ready to get out into the wilds.
Next I was off to the Oregon coast. This is a very damp and often times chilly climate. I was very happy to have a bed with a 30 degree rating as temps get into the 50s even in the summer and the 30 degree rating allows for very comfortable sleeping. Oh yeah, what was that I was saying about my tootsies again…

I love being able to pop my feet out when they get hot and ZB must know that feeling as well as it’s a common feature on so many of their products. Huge win!
Another thing that I was able to do, though not something that they advertise, was to make this system into a bed roll. Having past experience with the MotoBed I thought I could basically do the same thing with this whole system. Happy to report that if space is not an issue and you want to save a step for your next campsite this whole system can be rolled up as one unit.

So, now that you have seen some of my uses lets talk about a few of the features that I like. The first is the zipper. This bed has a zipper, and when I am not concerned with weight I much prefer this as it allows for a bit more customization to the draft you allow in at night. In the photo below you can see the side zipper that allows you to be free or completely zipped up depending on your preference.

Other notable features are the size, I went with the XL and this is a very spacious bed. You will have all the room you need to toss and turn, though you won’t need it as I’m sure you will sleep like a baby. If you are a person that hates being trapped in your bed this is something that you’re going to love!
Other notable tech specs are the 50D pongee fabric which offers comfort unsurpassed. Synthetic or down fill options are available depending on budget or needs. A wide array of colors make this a pretty fun customizable bed and one that everyone in the family should be able to find in a color of their liking.
Overall for the price this bed is a fantastic option for those car camping adventures and will provide endless hours of quality sleep so you can enjoy your adventures to the fullest!

What can be done better?
You would be hard pressed to find anything to improve on this great system. Sure you may have some personal preference to a few things but the great thing is that the ZB product line is so versatile I’m sure you can find something that will fit your exact needs.
