Story:
I purchased the Nikon Monarch binoculars 5 years ago. I decided I wanted a binocular in the 200-300 dollar range, that had good reviews, a good warranty, and had good light gathering. After quite a lot of searching I settled on the Nikon Monarch in the 10×42 size.
I have USED these binoculars hard for 5 years straight, I bet I pick them up at least 3 times per week all year long, and during the fall I use them almost daily. I have other pairs of binos, but this is the pair I keep in my truck.
I have found the clarity to be outstanding, even around the edges, they are not as clear as my Leicas, but are not that far off.
I have dropped, kicked, and basically beat the crap out of these binoculars, and have never had one issue. The outside still looks new, there is not a scratch on the lens, and they are as clear as the day I bought them. I have had these binos in the worst of weather. Snow, hail, ice, rain…and never had any water issues or internal fogging.
If you are looking for a mid range pair of binos, I would highly reccommend these.
What they could do better:
Ship with a little better case
Improve the separate eye focus, mine continually comes out of focus
Ship with a better set of lens covers
