Just the Facts:
Combining SlideBelts’ classic style and simplicity with the rugged, reliable versatility of outdoor essentials, the Survival Belt is a one-of-a-kind belt made for adventure enthusiasts.
The unique body of the Survival Buckle is composed of highly durable glass-filled nylon, and features an integrated folding knife with bottle opener, LED flashlight, and a ferrocerium fire starter rod. The knife is made of heat-treated AUS-8 stainless steel with a durable Titanium Nitride coating. A liner locking mechanism allows the knife to be opened with one hand.
The strap is proudly made in the USA and crafted to withstand the harshest elements and most extreme treatment. The strap is composed of an internal webbing core coated in a durable TPU alloy protective shield. This proprietary combination is therefore leather-free, and complies with US FDA skin-sensitivity requirements. What’s in a belt? Not really a very profound question I admit but one worth asking nonetheless. So, other than holding up your pants or tying together an outfit what is a belt good for? Well, let’s start with obvious uses such as holding a knife or pistol on your hip. Sure I could go on about using it to zip line while running from bad guys but that is just silly. A belt needs to be there for some pretty simple things that don’t really need to be spruced up. Or do they?
SlideBelts are in the belt making business, obviously. They make a series of very nice and quiet fashionable belts for nearly all areas of life. It would stand to reason that they make an outdoorsman themed belt as well and while doing it why not add some cool features? The SlideBelts Survival Belt is that outdoorsman themed belt and it is pretty dang cool.
A belt buckle can do more than just secure the belt and SlideBelts R&D made sure they used the space inside the buckle to its fullest. First off it has its own knife! If that does not get you excited I’m not sure your brain is working. I mean, it has a freaking knife! This means that as long as your pants are on you have both a tool and a weapon.
The buckle also has a combination flashlight and fire starter. The LED flashlight is really pretty cool. It is bright enough to light the trail or help you find a dropped item.
The flip side of the light has a Ferrocerim fire starter. So, when things go from bad to worse you can still light your way to a shelter and then start a fire to survive. This is truly an exceptional tool.
The belt itself is made of rubberized nylon that has a tinsel strength of almost 1500 PSI. It is easy to clean and remains soft even in the coldest temperatures. The best part is that it is notched all the way from one end to the other and with SlideBelts design that means that you get the perfect fit every time. With a starting length of 48’’ this belt can be trimmed to fit an enormous variety of waist sizes.
I used my SlideBelts Survival Belt for the entirety of the Washington archery and rifle seasons and I have so say that I am in love with this belt! I found myself using the tools from this belt far more than I ever thought I would. The flashlight shines brightest for me, no pun intended, as I used it most of all.
I would recommend this belt to every outdoorsman I know and think that it is a solid investment for nearly every type of outdoorsman. With the SlideBelts Survival belt you truly have a tool that could save your life. The best part is that until you need it you will never even know it’s there. When you are loaded down with gear it is nice to have single items with multiple uses.

What can be done better?
I really can’t find anything that I would change with this belt at all. I would like to see the price point a bit lower but that is not my area of expertise. Other than that I cannot find anything about the actual functionality of the belt that I would improve.
I give the SlideBelt Survival a sold 5 stars!
