Basic Description:
A full size sleeping pad that weighs 24 oz and is 2.5 inches thick. Packs down to 8.5″ x 4.5″ with the included stuff sack.

-Very warm, I would say this is a 4 season pad for most people.

Story:
My dad and I are getting a few last minute pieces of gear for our deer hunt coming up in few weeks and our elk hunt coming up next month. One of the pieces of gear he bought was the Nemo Astro Insulated air pad. This pad is great for the price! It does cost a little more than some other pads out there, but for what you get this is a top pick in my mind.
It packs down to nothing and blows up with 17 breaths. Although I do not recommend doing this all at once it can be done in just over a minute. It is a full 2.5″ thick and is very comfortable. The biggest thing on this pad is how light weight it is for the warmth it provides. You can actually feel the heat coming off the pad back at you.

Some other pads that would compare to this would be,
Exped syn basic which weighs 25.5 oz and is $80.
Thermarest Neo Air all season which weighs 19 oz and is $150. Then you have the Nemo Astro Insulated which weighs 24 oz and cost $100.

The Nemo trumps the Exped because of the baffle design. The Nemo is a horizontal baffle which is much warmer and supports you better. The Exped is a welded through baffle that tends to have cold spots and is not as stable. The thermarest is lighter and just as warm, but for $50 more is 5 oz worth it to you? You have to decide. There are probably a few pads I left out from some great companies. However, this Nemo pad proves itself with intelligent design and that it is extremely warm for the weight and packs down to nothing.

All in all this a great all season pad for back country hunting. One plus to this pad being so warm is you can bag down for your sleeping bag. You lose the majority of your heat to the ground anyway and this will help save you weight and money on a bag.
