My Story:
Nothing makes camp feel more like camp than a good hearty meal cooked on the campfire. Well, unless it is a good hearty meal cooked [IN] the camp fire! I love Dutch ovens and I was so very excited to test out the GSI Outdoors Hard Anodized Dutch Oven.
We had a trip into the way-backs of Idaho planned and I knew it was going to be the perfect place to test out my new Dutch oven. I brought along my go to ingredients for some spaghetti sauce as I find this to be an easy meal to return to finish after a long hunt. The sauce is the important part anyway.
After a very intense hunt that had me unable to return to camp until way late into the night I was ready to get my eat on! The sauce was looking fine and luckily was still warm. Precooked noodles only took a second to heat up and I was in chow heaven!
I used the GSI Outdoors Hard Anodized Dutch Oven for several meals over the testing period and found it to be of equal impressiveness as any cast iron oven I had used in the past. This baby is relatively light as well so that is nice when you’re packing the whole truck full of gear. You also will have no fear of rust, so no rusted lids that are nearly impossible to get off. I really think that if you are in the market for a Dutch oven you should take a look at this great option from a company that has done some really cool things with camping gear!
What can be done better?
What a question indeed. The simplicity of this product does not offer up much room for improvement. It works as advertised and I myself had no issues.
I give this product 5 stars as it simply works!
