Russell Outdoors APXG2 Wind Control Pullover
Editor: Darren
Basic Description:
Pullover to be used as a second layer or base layer.
Just the facts:
Part of the APXG2 line.
Fabric: Body – 100% polyester; Shell Trim – 84% Poleyester, 16% Spandex
Double layered for wind resistance and insulation. Includes scent stop for odor control.
Story:
I typically wear the wind control pullover as a second layer over my APXG2 lightweight base layer top and, if necessary under my APXG2 Zephyr single layer jacket. The combination is extremely comfortable and versatile. The three in various combinations can be worn comfortably in cool morning temperature temperatures approaching freezing or in the middle of the day when the temperature can be very warm.
The wind control feature makes the pullover warm even with cool breezes, yet the breathability makes it comfortable when the temperature rises and the wind stops.
The three layers fit together well without bunching and wick moisture away from the body and the freedom of movement is exceptional.
What they could do better:
My only criticism of this pullover or the system is that it can become expensive when all of the pieces are purchased.
