I recently spent time in the desert of New Mexico hunting an Oryx. The terrain was not steep and I figured that my Kenetrek Desert Guide Boots might be a little overkill because they are a rigid, extreme hunting boots in my opinion.

My Story:
On the first day of the hunt, It only took a few minutes to realize that I had made the perfect choice of boot for this hunt.

The entire desert floor was sharp lava-type rock that would have cut a shoe-like boot to shreds. Multiple times during the week we have to run through the rocks to catch up with spooked Oryx. The extra ankle support literally saved me over and over again.

The other huge bonus was the thick leather uppers!. My partner on the hunt had a thinner leather boot and kept complaining about the thorns from the Acacia and I never felt one! I was SO glad that I wore these boots rather than choosing a more shoe-like boot. Thank-you Kennetrek for building such incredible products.
